Eminence Immortal

On Sunday the 11th of November, 4 days after Reverend Dr. Colton Wickramaratne, founder pastor of my Church- People's Church Assemblies of God, passed on to his Home, I found a 40 minute long audio recording on my phone of the last meeting I had with him a few months ago. I listened and re-listened and was awed by how precise and pristine his advice and encouragement was. I was also touched by how much affection he truly carried in his pastoring.

Pastor Colton was and will remain one of my greatest inspirations. I saw in him everything a pastor should be. Hereby I (with poetic license) note what my hearts knows him as, with some touching memories from that recording and from our encounters which I'm so thankful to own!

The lightening-rod of a man was,

 Pastor
I thanked him when the time of our meeting was up; "Thank you for your time pastor Colton!"
He responded ; "Oh! I'm always available."

Father
This phrase was in our parting prayer - he said; "Thank you Lord for her jubilant, vibrant personality, help her guard herself when necessary , as others would not understand."
WORD.
Truth! : "I understand her (my mother's) concerns , as there are only very few good men (eligible for marriage) of your age out there."

Leader
After a dramatized performance on a Good Friday when I didn't even realized he took notice of me (he didn't have to say this, but he did) ; "You are doing a good job!"
During fellowship after a fabulously God-breathed Miracle Prayer Service; "(to someone by his side) Have you seen her? (and then to me) I seen you on stage. What a good dancer you are!"

 Shepherd
When I told him that someone called me 'lost and indecisive'; "You are not lost. You are on the right track. Keep at it"
Talking about train-wreck moments in my journey of faith; "Yes, on those days (when you fail) , repent, and get back on your feet. Start over again. It is how you run the race that is important, more than how far you go"

Legend
THIS is one of his constants. He said this to me personally about the above statement; "Try that out. It works. If it doesn't I guarantee I won't preach to you from today!"

Thank you, dearest Pastor. I miss you very much, but rejoice in the fact that I knew you, and that we will meet again. Soon.
